I finally had time and...I dunno, bandwidth, I guess, to get back in the studio and work on
this basket. I had originally thought that it would be covered in a slip-trailed design, but I am having second thoughts about that. Despite my usual approach - "More is more" - in this case maybe not. Maybe the the pot is done, at this stage. This way leaves something for the glaze to do.
Or maybe just a leeeeeeetle more decoration...maybe on the handle?
What do you think? Slip-trail? Or not?

In painting and photography, it's almost always considered good to have a "resting spot" for the eye. Sometimes KISS is a good rule of thumb. (just a thought, too)

This basket is so pretty. I think your subtle decorations are perfect. More decorating may distract from the beautiful soft form.
Maybe you should make two. Leave one subtle and go wild with the other.
I love the flow of the undulating rim. Maybe just a little slipdotting along there to bring the eye to it. But it's LOVELY as is.
Love the curves, and the way it looks nude. Good art!
I like the decorating where it is at now! I particularly enjoy the handle and how it accents the curves of the vessels. I do have a question- do you have cracking or does the handle separate if you do not work it into the body really well (does the attachment where it rests on the rim suffice)? I'm always hesitant to not overly attach handle, but it looks so lovely the way you have it!
This is lovely. Do more!
Now I want to go make baskets!
