I had an idea to create a "bargain" page on my new website, because I have so many pots that for whatever reason just don't belong displayed with my larger body of work: some are seconds, some are class demos, some are the by-products of sketching three dimensionally; and some have just been kicking around too long and I am tired of looking at them. I just finished posting the first item to it today. Boy is that a fiddly pain in the ass! I guess I've been spoiled by blogger. I assume I will get better at it, at least I hope so; because as things stand I just spent half the day to create a listing that, if successful, will net me about enough for a six of Smirnoff Ice.
If you feel like testing out links for me, check it out here: www.finemesspottery.com.
Click "Shop," and then "bargains" at the bottom of the page. If you click on the image of the soda bottle, it expands to a listing with a Paypal button.
The hyper-focus aspect of my attention deficit disorder is in full swing, so I may be in web-building mode for a while. Fiddly pain in the ass it may be but it's always fun to learn something new.
Gary has been selling my seconds (well what I call my seconds which are just pieces I need to move forward from) at local flea markets; I need to make room for more recent work and taking photos for a pittance received is just too much for me to get my head around. Good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda -- In the summer I sell mine in a kind of perpetual yardsale, but that doesn't work as well in January. Shooting the photos doesn't bother me much, as once I set up, it's no more difficult to shoot 20 items as it is to shoot 10.
ReplyDeleteI assume I'll get better and faster at posting the web pages. If not, well, summer always comes around again.
The links seem to work fine but I don't really like the tiled background. It strikes me as being a bit too busy or something. I'm not exactly sure why it bothers me so ask some other people, it might just be my aesthetic, otherwise I think the bargain area is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori -- The tiles will eventually have clickable images in them, so they will make more sense.
